Demonstrations & Group Workshops

Demonstrations are usually 2-3 hours, and Workshops can be half-day or full-day.

Painting:

  • Landscapes – Skies, Mountains, Trees, Water, Seascapes, Buildings, Boats
  • Figures – Improve your Life-Drawing, Quick Figures & Crowd Scenes
  • Flowers
  • Sharpen your Drawing Skills

Painting demos & workshops are mainly in watercolour, but include some mixed media. My style of painting is loose and impressionist, and this is the main focus of my demos/workshops, along with the ‘back-to-basics’ traditional methods, materials, techniques and processes of pure watercolour painting, plus colour-mixing and use of mixed-media.

Ideas:

  • Ideas for Abstracts
  • Beyond Realism (how to get from Impressionism to Abstraction)
  • Understanding Composition
    Understanding the Colour Wheel
  • Understanding Linear & Aerial Perspective
  • Watercolour Pigments and how to choose them

‘Ideas’ demonstrations are slide-show lectures which explain some of the broad ideas of Art. The Ideas workshops put these into practice and allow students to incorporate them into their own painting subject/style.
